5 Things You Didn’t Know About Human Sexuality

Humans are the most studied creature in the world. But, there are some things that even scientists don’t know about us.

Five Things About Human Sexuality That Will Surprise You

Human sexuality is a complicated subject. While most men and women believe that they know everything there is to know about human sexuality, most of us don’t. Biology classes cannot teach you everything that there is to know about sex, so that is where we come in. Here are five things that you probably didn’t know about human sexuality.

1. Homosexuality in males is caused by the same gene that makes women fertile. - We all know that homosexuality exists, but males that are homosexuals usually practice a different behavior than straight males. In the animal kingdom, males will have sex with one another when females are not around. In recent studies, scientists discovered that female relatives of gay men are more likely to produce a greater number off spring than female relatives of straight men.

2. Having frequent oral sex with a partner will increase a woman’s chance of getting pregnant. - Honestly, no woman will openly admit that they she likes to go down on her partner. However, going down on your partner may have some positive health effects for you. When sperm enters the body, a woman’s body will recognize this substance as a foreign invader; therefore her body will try to combat the invader, forcing it to leave the body. Having oral sex with your partner, and swallowing their cum allows your body to build up a tolerance to the person, making contraception easier.

3. Humans are the only creatures that can outlive their fertility. - Menopause is one subject that most women prefer to not discuss. No woman likes to go through the change, but it is inevitable. The sexual desire that apes experience normally starts declining once they reach forty years of age, with most apes not living past their forties. Humans on the other hand, are the only creatures that outlive their fertile years; this is thanks to medications and science.

4. Animals take birth control.- Many women take some form of contraceptives while they are engaging in sexual acts. Contraceptives help to ensure that the lady participating in the sexual action will not become pregnant later on. Animals also take oral contraceptives to help avoid unexpected pregnancies. There is a special plum that animals can consume that mimics female hormones
.
5. Getting off the Pill can lead to relationship problems.- Studies show that if a woman was on the pill when she met her partner, getting off the pill can ruin the relationship. Contraceptives have a way of altering a woman’s hormones. With hormone alterations, there are a lot of things that can change in a woman. Her taste in food, her taste for her partner, and her taste for sex can be altered by getting off of a contraceptive.

Human biology is a strange thing. The more researchers study the way that the human body works and reacts to certain situations the more puzzled these researchers become. There are so many things that we are all unfamiliar with when it comes to the human body.
