Yoga and sex are not two words that are commonly linked together. However, apparently practicing yoga can actually increase the female libido. Yoga is a stretching type of exercise regimen that has the ability to calm the mind, exercise the body, as well as increase a ladies energy.

According to a 2008 expert in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, women who practice Yoga on a regular basis have an increased desire for sex, and experience better orgasms when engaged in a sexual act. Sadie Nardini, a trained Yoga instructor, states that the first step in improving a ladies libido is to first improve her self image.

Nardini claims that she speaks with a lot of women that talk about wanting to have a better more enjoyable sex life, but fail to see that the only thing that is holding them back from experiencing the type of sex life that they desire is themselves. The instructor believes that if a woman is able to like herself, than she is more likely to be able to connect with someone else. 

Yoga helps establish a reconnection in yourself. It will help you get your life back into balance, where it needs to be. Once you are able to decrease the amount of stress in your life, then you will naturally start experiencing better sex. Yoga has the ability to boost self confidence and improve blood flow, all of which are prerequisites that a woman needs to do in order to be able to experience great sex.

According to Nardini, there are three poses that can increase blood flow to the genital area, thus increasing a ladies libido at the same time. The seated cat, the butterfly, and the camel are three Yoga positions that are supposed to assist women with low libidos.

The seated cat is achieved by either kneeling or arching your back, inhaling and then exhaling for a short frame of time. During this stance, you will experience increased blood flow and increased oxygen to the genital area. 

The butterfly is another Yoga pose that aims at increasing a ladies libido. In this pose, a lady will sit down and press her feet together. She will lean forward, while her feet are pressed together to initiate a deeper stretch. The main idea of the pose is to make it to where your face will be able to come in contact with your toes. The pose should be held for at least ten to twenty breaths. 

The camel pose is achieved by kneeling, while keeping the torso upright. From the kneeling position, you will take your heels straight up and lean back into your heels. This position closely resembles a bridge, aside from the face that your legs will remain on the ground during the stretch. 

Does Yoga have the ability to increase sexual libido? Well, according to several Yoga instructors and a few medical practitioners practicing this type of exercise regimen will increase your flexibility, decrease your stress, and allow you time to become reconnected with yourself as a person. Sexual pleasure starts with you. If you are not comfortable in your own skin, then it is possible for your libido to drop. Yoga teaches you to be comfortable in your skin, and to of course, push your body to its limits.
